Martini Cocktail recipe. The Classic one was born based on Gin. Over time it has undergone various reinterpretations, but the best-known alternative version is Vodka Martini. Other known versions are Martini Dry, Martini Very Dry, or Martini Dirty.
The fundamental rule to prepare an excellent Martini Cocktail is that the drink is rigorously cold, and therefore you use a lot of ice; you can cool the glass well even if you use Gin from the freezer.
It is up to you to use olive or lemon zest. The olive gives a more penetrating flavour, mind in the case of the zest, make a squeeze and rub around the edge of the Martini cup. I prefer olive with Vodka and lemon zest with Gin.
MARTINI COCKTAIL
INGREDIENTS:
Vermouth Dry 15 ml
Gin 60 ml
Olive or lemon zest
Ice cubes
PREPARATION:
Cool the Martini cup by filling it with ice while you prepare the cocktail. Fill the mixing glass with the ice for about 2/3 and add the Vermouth Dry. Mix everything with the help of a cocktail spoon and eliminate the liquid with the help of the strain. This technique, called Stir and Strain, is used to perfume the ice. Next, add the dose of Gin to the fragrant ice, and mix again. At this point, empty the Martini cup from the ice, pour the Gin from the mixing glass and hold the ice with the strain. Finally, put the olive on the bamboo toothpick, and place it on the cup’s edge, or squeeze lemon zest by perfuming the edge of the glass.
The Martini Dry version is 6 to 1: 60 ml Gin and 10 ml Vermouth Dry
In the Martini Very Dry version, 67.5 ml of Gin is used with a splash of Vermouth Dry
While Martini Dirty provides 60 ml of Gin, 7.5 ml of Vermouth Dry, and 7.5 ml of brine
